I so wanna try making these but...…...I am wondering if there is a recipe out there that doesn't require a vinegar rinse after or the machine to press them with

Are you talking about syndet bars? They don't need a rinse, only lye soap needs a vinegar rinse.
The recipe I used doesn't need a press. It melts into a thick sludge you pour in molds. I'll hunt it up and post it.

Found it. This was actually a kit I bought off etsy but the recipe was included. For me, its cheaper to buy the kits since I'm the only one using them.

Heated powder ingredients- add colorant here if using, micas work great.
SCI 32%
cetyl alcohol 5%
BTMS 25 7%
Incroquat CR 5%
Shea butter (any butter will work) 5%
SLSa 28%

Liquid heated ingredients (mix with powders)
Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate 6%
Cocamidopropyl Betaine 6%

Cool down phase
Silk amino acids 1%
Panthenol 1%
Dimethicone 1%
Cyclomethicone 1%
CTAC 1%
Preservative 1%
Fragrance 1-3%

melt heated phase at 30 second bursts in microwave. Make sure not to burn or overheat, it will puff up and come out of your bowl if you do. Will resemble applesauce when melted.
Cool down to the appropriate temps for your preservative. Add preservative and fragrance, mix well and quickly pour into molds.

thank you Obsidian. can I ask where you buy your ingredients from? and is this a syndet bar then?

I don't consistantly use just the bar but I would say at least a month. I have short hair.

I am going to order it on payday!! it said there was only 4 left on the site and 2 people had it in their cart. I see that all the time though and kinda think its a marketing ploy. thanks for your advice.

Do you wash your hair daily? I make syndet shampoo bars and mine last longer than a bottle of shampoo. I get anywhere from 75-80 washes out of one bar but I only wash my hair every 4-5 days. TBH, I've been making shampoo bars (we have 3 bars going at the moment) since February and still haven't used up a single bar and both my husband and I use it.

Yes, I wash daily and I lather twice. I have issues with these bars getting pretty soft too. I think the mold I used had too many details and water gets trapped and just soaks in.

Next time I'll use a smooth mold so they shed water better.

My original shampoo bar, which was a recipe from Swift Crafty Monkey and it would become very mushy. A few tweaks and my bars last a long time.

Since the stress I am under my hair has become quite damaged and thinned out so I do not shampoo daily anymore, so I really do not know how long my bars last other than at least 2 months maybe 3. No, the damage is Not from my syndet bars.

thanks guys--I have really short hair and wash every other day. so I think I have an idea how long they should last. quick question--do you guys rub the bar on your hair or in your hands
