I've been interested in all the comments along the way about the properties of the solid shampoo bar. I'm not sure I'm up for formulating these myself and my biggest question is how will these bars work with color treated hair? I know that the key to not washing out color (especially reds) is using SLS free shampoos, so I assume you could not use this here either.

Who knows a non-stripping surfactant?

I can tell you that I have tinkered with every conceivable recipe and tweak along the way for solid shampoo and I, too, have color-treated hair. I believe the surfactants to be relatively "color-safe".

Why? Because a wise chemist told me and I believe her after reading the specs on each ingredient that I use.

Not once did I notice the color changing or "washing out" from the product.

Fortunately, I believe I might be done torturing my hair and have finally come up with my eureka blend.

I say go for it and try for yourself.
