I was making soap the other day and my batter seized on me right after I poured in my Lemongrass eo. When I was stirring it after it got thick, I had pieces/chunks of soap that I'm assuming were chunks with the highest concentration of eo.

Since the eo was not evenly distributed, is the soap safe to use? Would it be irritating to the skin to have too much eo? I was planning to give this batch to friends. Thanks!

What's the IFRA on the EO, and did you come close to using that much in the entire batch? If I remember right Lemongrass EO has a pretty high IFRA % so you might be okay.
However, personally I wouldn't give it away as is. Rebatch it, and then gift it.

I'd use it and gift it. Even if there are bits of concentrated EO, it will be diluted with water when washing.

In case this ever happen again. Wrap your bowl of seized soap in a towel and let it sit for 10 minutes or so. It should go into gel and you would be able to finish stirring it.

It will come out more like HP but it's a good save. If 10 min isn't enough, give it more time.

Thanks! Im planning to use it before giving them out.

I don't know what's the IFRA on this, but I used 30ml for a 2 pounds soap, which is considered 'light' according to brambleberry's fragrance calculator.
