I have been soaping for a little over six months maybe longer (I recently came out of the soaping closet and made it known publically). Recently I notice my soaps aren't holding the scent. I add my scent at trace before molding and it smells lovely but by the time I go to cut the soap the scent is barely there or completely gone. I wasn't having this issue in my first months of soaping or days. I have tried several companies and follow scent to batch ratios but I'm just not getting it to hold. Is there something I'm doing wrong or can do to stop this?

Soapalooza and Soapsupplies.net have a wonder fragrances. Although they are not discount fragrances but any I use from the two companies hold great in soap. I am finding a lot of NG's fo's are not as strong as they used to be. Or at least my daughter and I have been finding that with some of their fo's. Some think mixing your fo with clay helps anchor it, but I personally do not find it helps. A lot of citrus fo's will fade and it is good to read the reviews.

I'm even sure why I didn't think of the flash points!! Since I have been having the issue I have tried gelling and not gelling but I'm not that fond of the longevity of non-gelled soap. However, I did try a different company and as I read your reply realized that I haven't taken note to the flash point because it wasn't marked. I feel like I just recovered from a slow moment!

Thank you!

Yeah, scents in general are not that discount that is why this has been driving me nuts. I'm checking the flash points of my recent fo's to see if that is my problem. Thank you for the sites I really need to expand my supply list until I feel satisfied with my favs.
