My fourth batch ever was a salt bar that produced scant lather that took forever to even get in the first place. Utter fail. It's very cleansing on my skin personally, and it is at 80% co and 20% sf with 100% salt ppo. So after many batches, I learned I'm just a tad more sensitive to co. I decided to try again at the salt bar.

This batch I decided to try lower co, slightly higher castor, little Shea and sweet almond oil for the rest with a 15% sf and 60% salt ppo. I did cpop and left in the rounds which I then unmolded 12 hours later. Used the rectangle in the bottom right corner immediately. I'm in love! It feels squeaky on washing down, but after completely dry I feel the left over sf and it's smooth, almost like lotion. So pleased with this!

It's scented with a blend of rustic escentuals ocean breeze and bb salty mariner. I took the advice of newbie and blended a regular perfectly behaving fo (re) with a lightning tracer fo (bb), and with the lower salt of 60% it actually moved very slow for salt bars. It's a very clean ocean spa like scent, and I really like it!

These were made 3 days ago so I'm thinking the lather will pick up with time.

Those are pretty. I generally use 80% CO, 15% Avocado and 5% Castor, 20% superfat and 25% Salt. I love my salt bars. I do cure them for at least 6 weeks but love them more at 3 months or longer.

I'm so glad you found a salt bar formula that works for you! Good for you!

By the way, your color combo is gorgeous! I love it!

Thanks you all! They looked like gorgeous little stars, but I decided to plop more on to double layer the sun stars and it became not as well defined in design. Oh well. I really love them!

Irishlass, I am happy too. Once I used 8% sf with 22 co which was a tad too cleansing for my liking, and after the other salt bar is still drying almost 6 months on (but not as bad as in the beginning) with 80% co and a sf of 20%, I realized I may be one of those "more sensitive" to co I've read about on here. So I figured I'd try it lower.

This had about 68% co, 7% castor, a little shea and the rest sweet almond oil. Used 15% sf and 60% salt ppo. They hardened super fast and super smooth on the outside. I did cpop to try and make the colors pop a little more. Edit to say I love the colors too everyone! I got the nurtures mica sample color sets in all the rainbow sale before last. I have so many samples I had a hard time choosing what to do. The purple I actually used a purple mica and mixed it with purple oxide I already had.
