I am wanting to start making bath salts and sugar/salt scrubs. What preservative's do any of you use for these products? I was wondering, that since I would be using dead sea salts in both products, why would I need a preservative? Salt by itself is a preservative, I mean people cure meats with salt all the time. Thanks!

Any time water can be introduced into a product, it can grow microbials, molds, & fungi. Scrubs are prime targets for people getting water into them while in the shower, or by dipping wet fingers into the scrub.

I use Liquid Germall Plus in my scrubs.
