I made a soap that was pretty much my regular recipe, but I changed out palm for GV shortening. I ran it through Soapcalc and printed the recipe. Since that time, I've made the same recipe a few times with no problem.
Well, this batch is just odd. First, its very pretty, almost translucent. But it's not hardening. In fact, it feels...rubbery. The other soaps I made have a similar translucent property, I assume its the shortening. But at 3 weeks they're fairly hard. But this one literally flexes! LOL! Initially, it did sweat a bit, I assume it was the FO, which was "There's Snow Place Like Home" by Sweetcakes. Its kinda heavy on pine notes. At this point, I'm going to shove it to the back of my shelves and hope time fixes what ails it.
Any ideas on this? I wonder if maybe I accidently measured too much water. Or maybe the FO was odd? It was pretty old, but the fragrance was strong and its sticking.
