hi, question about rtcp lye temp

i've been whipping my oils according to Paul's method, but have tried 2 different lye temps. One, I poured the lye into the whipped oils after an hour of mixing the lye with water, another I poured after about 3 hours. the one at 1 hour worked great, but the other was terrible and didn't seem to heat up properly and the beeswax went all lumpy. I'm not using beeswax anymore, but just wanted to know who out there does cold process and whips their oils and how long they leave their lye before mixing.

also, I've just got some stearic acid for the first time, and I know there is a bit of info out there about how much to use ppo and when to add it, but I don't know how to do a search for the info. any help appreciated.

since i use stearic acid in my soap i usually melt all my oils together the night before and process in the morning after coffee. i make my lye soloution the night before too. i oven process my soap if i use my plastic or hdpe log mold, or use my wooden molds. another trick is to use a heating pad under your mold with a couple towels on top. switch it off when mold starts to warm up.
