I am thinking of buying some Rosemary Oleoresin Extract for the first time. Have always used vitamin E in creams and lotions but have been reading about ROE and how they can compliment. I am looking to buy this one from Lotioncrafter www.lotioncrafter.com/rosemary-oleoresin-roe.html.

After reading about usage rates, it appears a very tiny bit goes a long way. Looks like the rate is .02-.05%.

I was wondering if any one uses this particular version of ROE and how much they typically use? Think I would be safe using at .10%? I don't want to use it and then find out the lotion or cream is irritating or smelling too herb like. :Kitten Love:

Hi Tess,

I would recommend that you stay within the range given for use of the product. I can't tell you what would happen if you used more and you are talking double the suggested amount but I can tell you that Lotioncrafter is an amazing company to deal with. Maybe give them a call to get their opinion as well, then let us know what they say?

Thanks Lindy and DeeAnna! I think I am going to go with the 2% from the Sage. That will be much easier to weigh out.

Glad to hear I could offer a helpful tidbit! I bought the 2% ROE a few months ago and have used it a few times. It is just a bit thicker than water and pours easily. It has a moderate vinegary smell combined with a slight rosemary tang, just so you know. Not something I would want to smell a lot, but at 1% or less in a recipe, the added odor is slight. --D
