rosemary EO

I looked up rosemary EO usage from WSP.It's a 100% in soaps????
Which means if I make a 60oz batch I would use 60 of EO ?
Which of course I wouldn't do, but is this me not understanding this right?

No I think it means you would use 6 oz. :? But straight Rosemary is kind of strong on its own and unpleasant at least to my nose. Needs to be blended.

ew, i would n ever use 6 oz, for eos I use 1/2 of what I would use for fos, I usually use 1oz pp, but not eos. I agree mix with something.

I was not just going to use rosemary EO, I mixed it with cederwood and peppermint in my salt soaps..The question was about the 100 % usage rate on WSP website of rosemary EO in soap.Which for me, means 100% of a 60 oz batch is 60oz of EO, which of course is insane.I'm going to write them about this today to clarify what they mean.....
Maybe I'm just stupid :shock:

WSP's doesn't show recommended usage rates for their EO's. It shows the IFRA's maximum acceptable safe usage levels. Deb from WSP usually only says about using EO's is "Use your nose to tell you if there's enough and stay within the guidelines." I don't like to work that way, though LOL

I always use the Sage's fragrance calculator when using eo's & fo's to figure out how much I should use if my supplier doesn't have it listed.

I hope they clarify the way they post this info. I love that it's given, but I've always thought it was misleading without further explanation and could cause a big ****oo for a newbie.

Absolutely.

I like how some of the suppliers actually state how much they use and how it turned out. Especially when they state how it behaved in cp

I can't use this little with some eos because then I can't smell them enough in the cured soap. Just too faint.

Do they mention the caution about using if you're pregnant? I know it's (soap) a wash off product but I was told you need the caution to not use if pregnant to cover your butt.

They don't mention any specific cautions with eo's.
If I remember correctly people that have had seizures also should not use rosemary eo.
