I got a good deal on some rosemary extract powder and I want to add some to my oils but I need some advice.

Should I add it directly to my oils before I mix them or should I add it to my heated oils before I add the lye to it?

Should I use it dry or make a concentrate? What oil could I use for a concentrate MCT maybe or glycerin? Should it be a 70/30, 60/40, 50/50?

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

@Todd Ziegler did you ever receive an answer about this? I am looking into this for my home-rendered tallow.
I never did get an answer. I did a lot of searching for the answer and didn't find anything. The only positive thing I found was in what I didn't find. I never found anything saying it can't be used this way. So I went ahead and used it and so far no problems.

Did you find out the strength of the carnosic if acid in your powder? That is the active ingredient that will tell you how much to use.
The only negative I have read so far is that the powder can be grainy and might effect the texture of your soap. I guess that depends on how much you use which depends on how strong the Carnosic acid is.

I will look and see. Had a small surgery this week so I have been out of it.

You are right about the grainy. I ran the powder through my ninja to help make it finer. I haven't used it yet because I am letting it soak and then I am going to run it through my ninja again before using it. I used high oleic sunflower oil for the carrier.

They said there's 20% carnosic acid per dry weight of 500 grams.
