One of my husband's co-workers has requested I make robin's egg soap her her to use for baby shower gifts. SHe plans on putting them in a small nest at each table setting.

Anywho...

1. Has anyone done this and if so, what mold did you use? At first, I though of using jell-o jigglers mold, but that seems a bit large. Plus, I don't have one.
2. How in blue blazes do I create robin's egg blue?

I feel lost but want to take the challenge.

#1 I'm a bit lost on, but would presume there are 3D egg molds out there somewhere...I ran a quick search and found this, out of stock of course: http://www.amazon.com/Delta-Sphere-Soap ... B001OY0CN6. Size on that might be an issue, so are there any large jellybean forms?

#2 I can help with! Assuming your oils soap to white, I'd enhance the white using titanium dioxide at 1 tsp ppo and ultramarine blue at 1/2 tsp ppo. I hit robin's egg blue by accident with that mix, or close--formal RE blue has a touch of green in it, but just a tiny touch, and you can safely ignore it. Most people aren't that intimately familiar with robin's eggs.

If your oils soap slightly yellow you'll get the green undertone anyway, or cancel it with more titanium dioxide or a bit of extra ultramarine blue.

Thank you for the tip on the UM blue. I have that and just didn't know if it would be the right one or how much to use. I don't want to make a bunch of hit or miss batches if not necessary. I will use a high olive oil soap and that should end up coming out pretty white with the use of a little TD.
