Getting back into soaping but it's been a year or so. Wanted to see if anyone had an opinion on this combo of oils. I was thinking:

Olive Oil 50%
Coconut oil 25%
Shea Butter 19%
Castor Oil 6%

Substitute coconut milk for water in my lye solution, 5% superfat

Running through soap calc gives me

Hardness 37
Cleansing 17
Conditioning 60
Bubbly 22
Creamy 26

Any opinions? Too much castor? Thank you for any suggestions

I don't see why it would not work , Shea Butter 19% is a lot more than I would put in a wash off product. good luck with it.

The numbers look good. I would probably up the percentage of coconut oil a little and lower the percentage of shea butter to get a harder bar with more bubbles, but that is purely a matter of personal preference. I would love to hear how your soap turns out. We love pictures too.;)

With that much olive oil it will start off as a very soft bar, but should cure up to a nice hard bar after 6-8 week. I find that when I make soaps with a very high percent of olive oil I have to give them up to a week in the mold before I event "think" about unmolding or it is too soft and just mushes on me.

Good luck with the batch, and let us know how it turns out.
