Hey guys, if you have a recipe that calls for beef lard but you want to substitute the beef lard for pork lard in the same amount will there be any problems? Thanks, Randall

Always run any substitution through a lye calculator such as SoapCalc. Lard has a spaonifcation value of .141, beef tallow has a saponification value of .143
Beef tallow will make a harder bar than lard.
