I have made a few batches with my recipe and am fairly comfortable working with it. I would like to try a shea butter recipe and would like suggestions on how to change up my recipe to add the butter. My usual recipe is:

35% Olive Oil
30% Palm Oil
25% Coconut Oil
10% Castor Oil

I was thinking of dropping the OO and PO by 5% each and adding 10% shea butter. Does this sound reasonable or does anyone have any other suggestions? The numbers look pretty good in soapcalc, just would like other input on it :)

I have a shea recipe at home. If you can wait til tonight I will be happy to share. There is also an easy Shea recipe on the teach soap website

Thank you both, I am not planning on making the soap today, so I can wait :) I am just kind of limited on oils. I downloaded that pdf file and looked it over some and it is going to be useful to me, I can see why you suggested dropping down the coconut instead of the OO after looking over the properties.

Here is one of my favourite Shea Butter recipes...my testers really enjoy this one..it's simple to make...requires only a few ingredients and really gives you a chance to try out Shea Butter....

Coconut 35%
Olive 35%
Shea Butter 30%
