I need juat a little help.
I have a recipe that goes like this:Sodium Cocoate, Plamate, Palm Kernelate,Shea Butter, and GLYCERN. Why glycern and in what percentage? I only know the ingredients.I have been working on this recipe for a while to get the right percentages, and I think I have them down
Coconut Oil=25 percent
Palm Kerneal Oil = 38.99
Palm Oil = 29.75
Shea Butter = 6.25
Adding glycern will surely throw my percentages of a little.
This was from an ingredient list form a bar of soap that my mother had some 10 years ago form a hand crafter, but all I have is the ingredient list. No name of the soap or on the label. The sopa is really nice nad I would like to make some to give out this Christmas.
Thanks for you help

hi wilbear
i don't quite get this recipe; normally a recipe has about 50% of solid fats and 50% of liquid fats.
glycerine is good for your skin and occurs naturally during te saponification process; so you won't have to add that.
the percentage of coconut oil is normally under 20%, as most people think it's drying to the skin in higher percentages.
good luck!
