I've been trying to get certain shades of solid colors. Here a few of the recent batches. I absolutely love some of the shades, though most of them aren't exactly what I was going for. I think the yellow is pretty close, though!

They are a variety of EO blends, or unscented, and have been so much fun to make. I really missed not soaping the last couple months.

Also, a SUPER SPECIAL THANK YOU to Amy (aka newbie) for being kind enough to offer to send me some Coral Reef Blue from TKB. I used it and absolutely loved it. You rock, Amy :) It's the greenish bar right by the brick colored one. It would've been more blue, but I think I had a bit of a yellow batch on my stick blender before I mixed it. Oops! It's a lovely color tho. I scented that one with spearmint/fir needle/lavender and it's turned into quite a lovely bar. Very fresh smelling.

Wow!

I'd love to know what you used for each bar. Not asking for formulating secrets, mind you, scent ratios, etc. Just where you got them.

You've been busy! I need to do the same one of these days as I have a bunch of micas I have yet to test.

Thanks for sharing!

You know, I have never used that Coral Reef to make a solid bar. It looks so different from what I imagined! I'm glad you like it. I love the range of colors you got and your brick red bar is really rich-looking. Love it. Have you been able to test to see if the lather is white or colored on any of these (esp the red- I really want to know about that one)?

I just tried a bar for you, newbie. The lather is kind of pink tinged (will attach a pic), but still mostly white. I have used the dark blue bar in the shower (fir needle/lavender EOs) and the lather is completely white. I used ultramarine blue from BB for that color.

I brain farted in my original post, btw. I used some FO's as well. Starting from the left, the pink bar is neon pink mica from TKB, scented with Holiday Candy FO from BB. Smells like sweet tarts.

The grayish one below it is unscented and is SUPPOSED to be sky blue. It's the sky blue labcolor from BB, but I could never get it to be bright. I have much more luck with micas when it came to blues.

Blue one below that is ultraviolet blue mica from TKB, scented with Energy FO from BB. Yum.

Yellow is neon yellow mica from TKB scented with lemon, litsea and lemongrass EOs. I was going for a VERY lemony soap per my mother's request. They live out in rural Arkansas and apparently lemon soap keeps ticks away. Who knew! I love that shade of yellow, by the way - it looks a bit glared in the picture but in person it's just rich and lovely.

Green one is neon green liquid dye from TKB. Scented with grass stain FO from BB. I, and everyone else who has smelled that one, absolutely love it. It's a really fresh, amazing smell. I think I'm going to buy more of that FO just to make for fun.

The tan one is marigold labcolor from BB. Also used a lot but couldn't get a rich yellow. I scented that with peach FO and cedarwood EO, and it smells AWESOME. Earthy and masculine but yummy at the same time. I was surprised how well they went together.

The dark blue is ultramarine blue from BB. I loved this blue but it reminds me a bit of a urinal cake. I scented that with fir needle/lavender EO and it's a nice blend. It's really pretty and rich in the shower. If you'll notice, the dark blue and red both have a lot of air bubbles from my old Oster stick blender. I bought a cheap $15 one from amazon and made the other batches with that. The difference is ridiculous - the texture on the newer soaps are so much better, and I love not having to worry about the air bubbles so much.

The orange one (SUPER bright in person, not so much in the pic) is neon orange mica from TKB. This is probably my favorite bar. Scented with sandalwood FO and orange 10x EO, the combo is freaking out of this world. The orange is subtle but there, I think I might try anchoring with cornstarch. I actually anchored with a bit of litsea now that I think about it. Anywho, it's heaven.

The teal one (thank you, newbie!) is coral reef blue mica from TKB. It's a lovely color, and I'm gonna make another batch today, I think, without getting yellow mixed into it. It's a beautiful blue/green, and I scented with spearmint/fir needle/lavender EOs. Fresh and yummy.

The black is activated bamboo charcoal from BB, and is unscented.

The red is brick red mica from BB, and is also unscented.

Man, you were on a tear! I am amazed that your lather is white on that red bar, but that is one thing I love about micas vs oxides- they seem to bleed less. I just got some of those Neon liquids from TKB so I'm excited to see them before I experiment. How much of the red mica did you use ppo or per pound of soap, whichever way?

I prefer the liquid neons from TKB over labcolors, I think. But I think I like mica over any other colorants I've used. I prefer the solid look to the soap, where I kind of feel like the liquid dyes are more translucent. I make like 2.5lb batches, and used a pretty big teaspoon of the brick red mica for it from what I recall.

Update. I used the red in the shower and it is pink lather, definitely. And does leave a bit of color in the soap dish. But it washes right off. Hmmm, how to get a non-bleeding red...
