When I made my first soap I did not fully understand the Soapcalc and made a very strong soap. I want to tone it down and dont quite understand on how to do it.

My question is can I rebatch the soap adding oils to make it useable or do I have to throw the batch out. When I do the tongue test It burns a little and does not taste like soap....lol

Here is what I did......

Coconut 55% ( I learned too much coconut...what was I thinking)
Olive 23.7%
Castor 6.3%
safflower 15%
Superfat @ 5%
Lye Concentration 28.76%
Hardness 48
Cleansing 37 ....ouch
Condition 45
Bubbly 43 ....I like Bubbly
Creamy 17
Iodine 52
INS 181

I never have rebatched so I'm at a loss....but then again I'm new at CP too...so at a double loss.....

Thanks for your help

Hey - just happened on this thread - so sorry I have no experience to answer your question

I shall keep you company here until someone knowledgeable comes along. Until then, have you tried the 'search' function at the top right of this page? You may find lots of info on saving soap. I suggest typing in 'rebatch' and see what comes up.

Tanya :)
