I've rebatched one batch of soap, and my scraps now and I love the way they turned out. So I want to do another, and I was wondering if I should try hot processing or just stick with CP and rebatching (it was so easy). I rebatched 2 days after pouring and it was easy to grate and I melted it in the microwave so it seemed much easier that whats involved with a full HP. Are there any major benefits to HP vs rebatching? I've read there are a few people who rebatch on purpose but not many. Any words of wisdom?

Question is: what are you trying to achieve ? In what way is your rebatch better ?

I have done HP and rebatch, for adding lye sensitive ingredients. I see no reason to grate it, except when you add extra water, and this isn't the case.

Easiest is to just CP in a pot, and after few days, rebatch in same pot. I use a double boiler.

I didn't think about doing it in the same pot, silly me.

Answer: Its not better or worse just different. I like the differences in the bars, but I do like them both (CP & rebatches).

wowowow, no, I would HP any day over rebatching. it is soo much easier. I love the texture of HP too.

in the crock pot at least. I don't/wouldn't do it on the stove as my stovetop temps fluctuate too much.
