I got a bevler from Sugar plum sundries (along with my new mold, LOVE! Gonna have to sell of some of my old molds...:)) and so I bevelled every soap I have made so far....... leaving me with a lot of shavings.
I put them all in my crock pot with a little water and let em melt. They had been in there for about an hour when DH walked by and made comments on the muddy color and commented that if I let if melt too much more the color will go from muddy to icky. Being that he has a good eye for color, I trusted him and dumped it into the mold. I'm glad I did. I'm really happy with how it turned out. I also scented it with a little ginger and rosemary. It smells yummy.

I was so inspired that I took my ugly soaps that have been making me sad and grated them up to rebatch. I will post a before and after in another thread but here is a preview...

In both of these I used too much water. They came out of the mold feeling like clay- which had upsides- I was able to add chunks and fill in the holes where I hadn't packed it into the mold so tightly. But on the down side, they are still drying.
