saw on etsy some beautiful soaps with curly soap and chunks embedded in the top of soaps, the tops were really textured, really swirly, high in the middle and lower on the sides, how do they do that? do they make it really thick trace or what, I have been out of soapmaking for the past 5 years and boy have things changed!! looks like they used log molds but not sure how the top layer is so thick and textured!

If we mean the same soaper; I think remembering having read that she has a mould made for those tops; All her soaps look as if they've a cloned left part; only different in colour and additions.

You could make a top like that if your batch is thick enough though...

it was some white soap with pale pink curls and chunks embedded in the top. I live in northeast Louisiana and folks here have never caught on to handmade soap, at least not made by someone local. I think If I could make some soap like that it might go over here. I gave up on soaping about 5-6 years ago because I got so frustrated, I am a perfectionist and I could not get perfect shaped bars and it drove me crazy, I have spent a fortune on molds, wood, plastic, dividers,, no dividers, some kind of mold made of somekind of plastic with dividers that cost $100 and I never got it to do right. so frustrating and so expensive.! there is a lady in my town that has built a nice produce store and is selling handmade things there also, she is begging me to make some soap, but I just don't feel like being let down again!!
