Can I crack open a real coconut and use the milk for soap? I bought some in a container but it has other stuff in it (guar gum...etc). Wouldnt it just be better to use the pure stuff?

If you crack open a coconut, you'll get coconut water, not coconut milk - you can still use it like juice.

Coconut milk comes from the flesh and if you want very creamy, fragrant coconut milk, you need to get ultra old coconuts.

Haven't tried, but I'm sure it's possible.

You can make coconut milk in the blender.

Wow...thanks everyone, and thank you for that link. It was very informative!
