Hi,
I realised after I mixed the lye and olive oil together and pored it into my mold that I had used waaaaay to much lye. Way, way, way too much. Several times the right amount too much.

I had followed all the other instructions. When I took the soap out 24 hours later and tried to cut it it was hard and split/shaved. There were no lye pools in it, but there were teeny, tiny bubbles.

Is there any way I can save this for re-batching?

Without knowing your recipe it would be hard to say how to rebatch. Is it a large batch? If it is one pound or so, I would probably put it in the trash.

If you post your recipe, we may be able to help you work out how much oil you would need to add to your rebatch to use up the excess lye...but we would need to know exactly how much lye you added by weight to how much oils by weight.
I'm with lsg - if it's only a 1 lb batch or so, toss it and save yourself the hassle. I hate to throw out soap until I've tried everything to save it...but sometimes, it's just not worth the trouble.

Can you rebatch because you Despise the fragrance you scented your soap with or is it not worth it? There is really nothing wrong with the soap. I just hate hate hate the smell.

CB give it a try. If you rebatch, you will lighten the scent just by adding heat to it! Throw in a complementary scent to make it more enjoyable to you. Don't ever throw out soap! :p

Sounds great!!!! Now to figure out what will smell good with stinky acai!!! Lol

 Do what you can to save it before throwing it out! Can you make laundry soap with it??

I have a lye heavy soap as well. Hubby asked if he can grate it and make laundry soap from it. I am hesitant because 1/2 of the soap was colored with black oxide. WE wouldn't use much. My laundry soap is 3/4 baking powder, washing soda and SENIOR MOMENT...well, you get the idea. If we grate it and add it to my powders I can clean the world. It was 6lbs of soap!

Acai...that's a fruit scent...maybe something refreshing...like mint/lemon (like a fancy lemonade!)

It sure doesn't smell like a fruit scent. All 3 fragrances that I ordered from Oregon Trails Soap Company came in plastic bottles. Funny thing is that they all 3 had a plastic like hint to them. I so prefer glass bottles. Thanks for the input!!!
