Hey everyone!

Soooo, I've never made a candle in my life, but I'm going to be selling some bath and body sets with some of my handmade products soon, and thought it would be nice to include some votives in some of the sets.

Can anyone recommend a website or book that would give me a lesson on how to make votives?

Thanks!

There is a lot more testing involved with making candles than there is with B&B products. (Well, more you have to do yourself anyway) and it could take a very long time, and I've found more expensive than B&B. I would suggest going on candle forums like this one and read everything you can, get a kit at a reputable company and going from there.
I've been doing candles for 9 years now and still have to test every thing.
I know, I didn't answer your question very well, but really, candlemaking is not as "simple" as it looks. B&B for ME was much easier...

thats another hobby i would love to pick up!... my best advice is to perfect what you are doing first before moving on :)

Yikes! For some reason I thought candle making would be easier than soapmaking! I'll probably just buy a kit and see how it goes. I don't really want to get into making tons of different types of candles, really just votives. They seem somewhat simple?

Votives for beginners

I like to start beginners chandlers with votives. Get a kit or two and invite someone to join you. Make it a sleep over. Have fun with it. Good mother/father daughter/son project. Spring is such a creative time to try something new.
