My husband just made a wooden mold for me, and I will be using dividers. Do I place the divider into the mold and pour the soap or should I pour the soap first then place the divider in the mold, OR does it makes any difference?

Also, should I remove the divider 24-48 hours later? Will it be difficult to remove? I am so new at this and need all the help I can get. Thank you in advance.

Pour your soap into the mold first, then put your dividers in. If you do it the other way 'round, you'll have trouble getting even sized bars.

To unmold, I turn the mold upside down & gently shake until the soap & dividers come out. I then gently press on the bottom of the bar of soap with the heel of one hand & have the other hand underneath the soap to catch it. Gently press until it comes unstuck from the divider.

I have found that wiping the dividers over with mineral oil when they are new will help stop the soap from sticking to them too badly. I also rarely wash them, just wipe them over with a rag, as I find that the soap residue helps stop them being too sticky.
