I have a question about making and selling lotions made from base(s).

When I was pregnant with my son , who's now 8, I was extremly diabetic. This did a number on my feet, ok truth be told I never had great feet to begin with, but wow they got bad sore cracked and dry. During that time i tried every cream lotion butter you can imagine but nothing helped. sooooooooooooo I decided to make my own concoction taking the things i thought seemed to help the most and combinging them adding a little evoo and pepermint extract I came up with something fantastic!

over the years I have shared it with friends and family but never sold it or really thought about it since it is all made with off the shelf stuff. A while back I started to buy similar bases to what I used to make what I call "foot grease" and mixing to see if i could come up with the same stuff and i think I have it! And in the process have come up with 2 or 3 lotions i am quite found of too. So now the question is what do i do with it?? lol

Do i have to have it lab tested since it is made from bases? lotion bases butter bases etc.. nothing I really had to hand melt or mix or even add water to.. just a combination of premade lotions etc..

Do i need to add preservative to it.. not fond of them but if I have to I have to.

not sure what the process is for this.

thanks for any help you can offer :)

i cant help but ill bump this topic cause id like to know as well :)!

I have recently nailed my recipe for massage lotion... its perfect.. made a base unscented lotion that i can add scent to drop by drop depending on the clients preferences for strength etc... or thats my plan at least.

(going to be LMT in June.. or July depending on testing dates...)
