I love making milk soaps...and just recently decided to use whipping cream (in the past I have used half and half) in a batch. It came out really nice but was wondering if maybe I should tweak recipe a bit. The batch I made I used a combination of frozen goat milk and frozen cream (about 60:40 ratio)

I usually calculate a lye discount of 7-9%....but was wondering if I should lower the percentage if I use heavy cream because that would be like extra superfatting as well.

At least lately, I have noticed my soaps seem to be sweating....and not sure if it is because of 'too much superfatting' or just cause it has been sooo rainy and humid this summer.

Any thoughts?

Sweating can be caused by temperature and humidity conditions, Sandy. I would wait a bit until you decide. Let them dry as long as possible in a dry place if you have one.....I use the attic or upper level rooms when possible, or put a de-humidifier in my basement soaproom.

I use less of a lye discount in milk soaps because I fear the soap may rot sooner than later. For any other edibles in soap also (pureed cucs, carrots, avacado etc....)

This sounds like a good experiment to keep us informed about. Please do!
