How long will carrot soap last if I use pureed carrots and juice? I'm trying to get that deep orange color and don't know how else to get it.

I make some soaps with carrot juice as my total liquid amount at times and the color stays a nice shade of orange awhile, but after about 8 months to a year or so it starts taking on more of a dull, burnt orange color. The soap itself is still great- no rancidity issues or DOS or anything like that- but the color is not as bright and vivid as it used to be. I bet if I added some TD to it, though, that it would stay brighter like my tomato paste swirled soaps do.

Which brings me to tomato paste- you can also use tomato paste to get a beautiful orange. I use it for swirls (mixed with a tiny bit of TD) to get a fabulous bright orange swirl that has lasted in my soaps over 2 years now, and still going strong.

I LOVE using baby food carrots. It's already pureed and ready to go! I love carrot soap.

I've looked everywhere for carrot juice, nope. Can't find it anywhere. (unless it's in a juice blend)

I've also looked for carrot baby food too. Obviously no one feeds their babies only carrots anymore.

So I'm going to boil up some carrots and then blend/puree them and then strain the mixture. That is, if I do decide to make carrot soap, as I just read another thread about DOS in it... :(
