Question about scrubs & body butter base

I have a nice body butter base that I like and am looking into how to make scrubs. Since the body butter already has some great moisturizing ingredients in it as well as an emulsifier and preservative, could I not just add sugar or salt to this and turn it into a scrub?

Sorry if this sounds way out there, but by looking at the ingredients in a lot of scrubs it seems to me that this would work? Does anyone know?

I would say, make a jar & see what happens. Would you whip it? Let us know if you give it a try.

I have made scrubs using whipped soap base & sugar.
