Question about Moroccan Soap

I'm trying to make Moroccan soap paste. I have watched some videos on Youtube and most of them are using canned olives.
The question: why they don't use preservative as the olives are fresh? What do you think?
 
Because they grind and press the olives. It is then cooked for quite some time. If there are any bits it's minimal and won't affect the soap or equire preservative as the ph is high enough.

Thank you. I made it with confidence now :thumbs: It became exactly as I wanted and no free olive paste was left. It is simple and beautiful but takes long time to finish :confused:
