Has anyone ever tried using dried and ground avocado peelings in their soap? I was wondering if they are safe to use.

I've never tried avocado peelings, but I use the pureed flesh in my avocado/ cucumber soap all the time. I suppose if the peelings are not toxic or anything they'd be fine to use as long as you grind them up real well. Sounds like they'd make a good exfoliant, like pumice or something similar.

i've used pureed avocado (without the shell) and although i expected it to brown, so far it hasn't (six month and counting). have not attempted to use the peel, will be eager to hear how it turns out!

Keen to hear how it grinds up.
My first thought it might be too rough/sharp.
Pulped up avocado in soap works good for me. No discolouration yet either.
I used some green clay with it & it has a lovely earthy green colour to it.

I too made advocado soap last week with the puree and avocado oil. Dh said it looks like snot  , but he thinks that of the avocado anyway.

Doesn't avocado soap smell funny ?

I am asking because avocado and oil kind of does, and seems somewhat incompatible to me with the freshness that you expect from a soap.

The one I do has no FO or EO.
It has no smell whatso ever. Barely even a soap smell.

Nope, no funny smells- it just smells like regular clean soap.

I could never sacrifice an avocado to a soap recipe, I LOVE TO EAT them sooooo much. But the skins dried and ground could possibly be lovely! Always thinking soap, I like that
