Hello!! I am in the beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan, right in the center. We live on a 20 acre homestead and raise our own herbs for culinary, medicinal and soap making. We moved here in March of 2012 and are just living our dream! This is not an easy life and I love the challenges and adventures we have each day. I am a 27 year veteran soap maker going from my first batch of Lard Soap and now to a more detailed recipe that is vegan and also a goat milk soap. I love all processes of Soap Making and see the beauty in the artistic and simplistic work and as long as it is a safely made product I am all for it. At present, I have a following on my Face Book group. I love to write and help others. On my little group we buy in bulk and therefore are able to offer lower prices on cosmetic grade glitters and micas! I encourage you to stop on over and take a peek :) it is not a big group but we are all able to buy cosmetic grade glitters American Made and Cosmetic Grade Mica powders that we all can use in our products.
I look forward to being a part of this forum and thank you!
Many Blessings of Success!

Welcome Penny! Your herb farm sounds wonderful; I would love to be able to do that. And it also sounds like you bring a lot of soaping experience with you - so jump right in and help the newer soapers out! It's what makes this a great forum.

Welcome! Wow, 27 years of soap making! Great wealth of knowledge. I can't wait to read some of your responses. I started an organic garden at my school, and we have a nice herb garden from where I can gather most of my herbs. I would go crazy with an entire farm to choose from! Do you have goats? I love goats!

You have 27 years of making soap or are 27 years old? I think the latter, judging from your pic http://www.soapmakingforum.com/showthread.php?t=40387&page=4. Or maybe that's your pretty daughter? Your herb farm sounds wonderful indeed!

Wooops, I was browsing another thread and see I mixed you up with someone else! Many apologies, and I, too extend a welcome and look forward to your sharing comments based on your many years of experience.
