I always have problems making lotion with beeswax.

The oil and water just separate.

I have no such issue with wheatgerm wax though.

Anybody having the same issue?

Are you using beeswax as your only emulsifier? If so, then you most likely will have separation problems because beeswax contains fats, which make it unable to mix with water.

Ditto what Genny said, if you are making a lotion with beeswax and water, you need a good emulsifier like e-wax NF. Also don't forget a good preservative!

Thanks. This is very enlightening. I thought beeswax itself is enough. saw a few videos using only beeswax as binder and thought only beeswax alone will be sufficient.

I have look at the blog that Genny provided. The author really wrote many things about the beeswax. Guess I was wrong about beeswax all along.

She did mention that beeswax and lecithin mix to emulsify? anybody try that? I have both, maybe i should try. but how do i dissolve the lecithin?

I've been using NG's recipe for the Dream Cream. I ordered the kit first. I think it was Cocoa Dream Cream. I used lemongrass fragrance for this last group. It only makes 4 jars at a time. Wonderful stuff though.
