I am using powdered sugar for the first time. I’ve only used granular sugar previously. I mixed the PS with my water yesterday, and today it had a bit of sediment on the bottom. I figure that’s the anti caking agent, I think it’s corn starch. It looked like more than I expected, but it may just have expanded due to absorbing water. I stirred it and added my lye anyway. It discolored slightly more than plain sugar, but not much.
However, there is a slightly thickened consistency. I imagine with the cornstarch it made a bit of “gravy”. Still ok to use? Should I expect anything different in performance?
TIA! 💖
