it states the makeup in Potter's Soap is pure potassium oleate in a 75% concentration. Other chemical names for it are, "Oleic acid, Potassium salt; sodium salt; 9 -Octadecenoic acid Potassium salt; Potassium salt of Oleic Fatty acid."
I personally know nothing about how it's used in pottery making and if any soap will do but that is a start.

I'm a potter, soap won't put a barrier on your skin as it's a wash off product. Just use a commercial barrier cream, when making a plaster mould, that's what dh does, he also uses it when working with concrete and works well. You only need water to get the clay off after doing pottery. If your skin is dry just use a moisturising cream.
I wasn't sure if you meant a releasing agent for the plaster, you need to clarify.

Hi, the soft soap, when applied to plaster at 1:1 soap to water, when applied to plaster vessel only plaster to make it sealed, I have managed to cobble a recipe together, will make today, and let you know results,thanks
