While I wait for my Peak FOs to cross the border I've been playing with my current FOs trying to come up with interesting but not noxious combos.

I'm soaping Neroli, Cinnamon and Lotus right now. It's surprising nice. We'll see how it soaps.

What are your favorite odd couples?

I love mixing Mandarin Orange from SC with Midnight Pomegranate from WSP. I call it 'Blood Orange'.

I also love mixing Chocolate Mousse from MMS with Intense Almond from MS. Another good one is Watermelon Patch from Oregon Trails with Cool Cucumber from WSP.

Vanilla Extract from BitterCreek South with any kind of mint for vanilla-mint, and Vanilla Extract with any kind of orange for a 'Dreamsicle' scent.

Orange Blossom from SC mixed with True Rose from SC will give you a baby powder scent.

IrishLass :)

Oh I love some of those combos!

I have soaped BBs Island Coconut with equal amounts of lime and may change eos and got the most delicious tropical scent....yum! Not very unusual I know but nice. I have also blended BBs Green Tea & Seamoss fos with sweet orange eo :)

Orange 10x EO mixed with one of the strong while florals like gardenia or jasmine, oddly enough. The orange knocks the "omg, floral!" edge off of the floral. Going to try it mixed with Sweetcakes' magnolia next.

That sounds good, I must try it....mixing orange with florals, that is.

I don't usually mix eo's with FO's, but I remember doing a rose/patchouli/ylang in my first year of soaping (when I was braver, 8 years ago). It smelled sort of spicy-rose.

I don't personally favor florals for my own use, but they are best--sellers, always. Maybe if I add orange eo, I'll like them more. Thank you TessV!

Orange is a great addition to anything. Today I'm mixing hydrangea and firewood. (The hydrangea smells like lily, hydrangeas don't really have a scent) The cotton ball smells spicy, let's see how it soaps.

It's not an odd combination but I used vanilla fo and clove eo and found it smelled like chai tea (real chai tea... some I've tried online are just awful) - I love it now, I make it a lot... I sound silly, but it's very peaceful smelling in the morning when I know my only free time to myself that day is my shower lol...

eta: another one I like is lavender, patchouli, and vanilla.... I wish the vanilla didn't ruin all the coloring possibilities of it, but smells great.
