This is my first 2lb batch! I usually just work in one pound batches so I was all excited while making this. Anyway the only additives are sugar to the lye water and some kaolin clay. Just wondering for those of you who have this mold what size do you like to cut your bars at?

You should be able to get at least eight -four ounce bars from this mold and maybe nine with a little left over.

When I do a full water discount I cut them at 1.25 so my bars are 4oz. But if I do a 2:1 water ratio then I cut them at 1 inch
Very nice and clean batch
Now I want to do a pure and simple batch

Your soap looks great. I generally get 6 to 8 bars depending on how thick I cut the bars. Six bars are chunky and those are more for people with big hands.

For myself, I like to cut the bars slightly over an inch so I'd get 7 bars with a skinny bit on the end.

eta: I just cut a batch and I came out with 7 bars - 6 slightly over one inch and the 7th one was closer to 1.33".

Very pretty! Simple and clean :) I have yet to make a 2 lb batch so can't help with the size of the bars, but I am likely making my bars too small in reading what other people are saying about a 2 lb mold.

Thanks for all the replies everyone!! And thank you for the input on bar size! I'll be unmolding this batch on either Monday or Tuesday.
