Piping...

I am new to piping and i love the way this looks on my soap but i find it takes several hours for my soap to get to the consistency that i need for thickness. Is this normal? On utube videos it looks like it takes about ten min. If this isnt normal then any ideas on what to do differently?

You must be using a slow moving recipe. I have the opposite problem, by the time I get to the last decorating tube-full of soap, it is getting too hard. To solve that problem, I have put harder soap in the crockpot to make it more fluid. You have to use a frosting decorating syringe to pipe the hot soap.
