Made a small pringles can avocado soap on Thursday night. I over calculated so there was left over batter for a quarter of the second can. Just unmolded the smaller can and it was way too soft to cut. The EO blend was Peppermint, Fir Needle and Rosemary with a majority being the Peppermint. Unfortunately the smell reminds me of Pine Sol and almost has a slight ammonia smell. There is no way ammonia can show up in soap is there?

That ammonia smell should go away pretty soon. Every time I cut soap it smells like the home perms my mom used to give her friends...😬... But within a few hours that goes away.

I have no answers for you, sorry. I, too, use a similar blend and it smells like a forest, not Pine Sol. I used to use pine essential oil and it totally smelled like Pine Sol and that's why I switched to fir needle and rosemary essential oils.
