Hi

just wondering what should i be aiming for with ph level in soap??
as my soap be coming out between 10-11 ph level (im in australia - not sure if that makes a difference??, if other countries read it differently??)
is that normal?

and how do i change it?? is it how long to cure the soap before use? or is it the oils am using or how much caustic soda am using..

pH is pH the world round!

first off, how are you measuring your pH? test strips are notoriously inaccurate for soap.
but still, that's in the ballpark for normal soap. and while you may be able to bring it down a hair with some acid - soap by its very nature is alkaline. if you bring it down too far you end up with sludge as the salts of fatty acids (aka soap) disassociate.

(and I have liquid soap sludge to prove it LOL)
