Could people check their soaping notes if they've used Peak's Cranberry Apple Marmalade and tell me at what rate they used it? I see on the spreadsheet that Honor used it and had no problems. I just soaped it at 1.5 ounces for 30 ounces of oils, which is a touch low for me in general, and it riced. I had three parts and all three did it, although the one in which I used a red mica was the worst (my fault. I've had that happen with a high rate of usage with colorona bordeaux). I stick blended it again and it would go back together more but then start moving apart again. The best one had an applesauce texture and the worst was grainy. It doesn't look like it will separate in the mold- it seems to be setting up, but wondering if others had a similar experience. If not, now high did you go? If so, were you able to find a rate at which it stopped being problematic? Yes, I know it is somewhat recipe dependent, but I'm still curious what other people have found.

I've only used it once at .7 oz ppo. It riced for me, too. I had added some rose mica but only a little. I didn't measure it but it was probably only about 1/8 tsp. I was hoping it wouldn't discolor too badly and I'd have a little swirl in it.

I'd like to know if anyone had better luck because I really like the scent. But I don't want to deal with it ricing every time I use it.

Ok I have this one, I hadn't used it yet cause I think it's stinks OOB but now I have to try it. I've never had anything rice on me, or anything else weird. I need an epic soap failure to feel like a real soaper. I'll report back next weekend lol.

I didn't think it stunk OOB but it wasn't as good as I was imagining when I bought it. I've had it for a while and never soaped it. I was looking for something that didn't discolor or accelerate so I could play around, and of course it discolors to a golden yellow and riced. My son, who never likes any scent much, went past this batch and shouted, "This soap smells GREAT!". He repeated it about three different times, to make sure I heard. This is high praise indeed and congratulations to Peak! It does smell good, apple and a bit of tart.

If you'd like an EPIC failure, try soaping at 1 ounce ppo, because my 0.7-0.8 was salvageable. It didn't separate in the mold and turned out okay, although it doesn't look as uniform as I would like, which is expected for ricing. I bet at 1 oz ppo, it would curdle like spoiled milk!

I believe the first time I used it I did hp, then cp major acc! I adore the scent though, it does discolor to a med-dk brown.

Honor, what rate did you use? I'm glad to hear it accelerated for you too. Sometimes I wonder what the heck I'm doing wrong when a review says it soaped like a dream or something and then I have problems.

Yay, I got my first rice (ok not really yay, I decided I liked the scent). I used 1oz for 26oz of oil.

What the heck do I do with this "soap"? Will it make soap as it is (CP) or do I need to HP or trash it?

I soap Peaks Cranberry Apple Marmalade all the time. It is one of my best selling soaps. I do not have problems with ricing. I moves a bit fast but I have time to decorate. I pour the bottom layer in a loaf pan first - then put VS in the pan with the left over soap. Color this red & orange. Pour over what is already in the loaf pan. Sprinkles of cranberry seeds on top and when cut it turns out great!

HPing it seems to be saving it but I lost my purty swirl :( Ah well. I don't think I'm allowed to have nice looking soap
