I want to get back into making soap again. Have you found a good patchouli that does well in soap? I’d appreciate any advice.

Patchouli from Camden Grey does well for me. I have never made a soap with just patchouli, but I have used it for blend in my soap.

I like the dark patchouli from New Direction Aromatics (NDA) but you need $100 minimum order. I've bought Shunt2011's Patchouli soap and will vouch that it is a wonderful patchouli scent. [makes note of where Shunt got it so one doesn't need to save up for NDA...]

I've been using the same one for quite some time. Carolyn may have been the one to point me in their direction. She's given some great suggestions for fragrances.

Only problem with Fragrance Laboratory is do not depend on it being in stock when you need it, she tends to run out. So I like to keep 2 lbs ahead. Nice thing with Patchouli is it just gets better with aging. I have tried a lot of different Patchouli's and this is the best I have found other than one I used to get during a co-op. I cannot even remember who is was that ran the co op, but she apparently quit and would never give up the source of the Patchouli she bought. It was a Long Aged Dark Indonesian Patchouli and this is the closest I have found to it. I had even offered to run the co-op and she would not give up the source :(
