Palm Oil Appearance

I'm new to soap making and on the hunt for materials. I have found Palm Oil at an international food store. It is red-orange - Is that the right stuff? Also looks like there is sediment of some sort in the bottom of the bottle. If this is right, does the color go away when it's melted, or turned into soap? It looks like it is partially solid at room temp. It says it's pure palm oil
