When packaging your soap to sell (mostly at craft fairs, farmer's markets, etc.), what are the pros and cons of wrapping the soap completely versus just a band around the soap, leaving the side edges open? Besides the ease of wrapping factor, I mean.

Heard stories of people digging their nails into the soap, just because.
Also if the soap is dropped, it won't get anything on it.

Edited to say: The cons are your potential customers can't get a "feel" for the soap. But I think an easy fix to this is to leave a tiny unwrapped sample bar out. That way whatever happens (dropping, nail digging, excessive touching) is okay. :) Hope that helps.

Pro: I think fully wrapped bars make it easier for people to handle the soaps in a sanitary way and when we pack up or put out for display, it makes it easier for us to handle also without marking up the soap with our fingers.

Con: Not a lot of the scent seems to come through the small end slits of our shrink wrap.

I like my soaps fully wrapped and then I have a sample bar of each fragrance out in front of the soap so people can handle and smell them....
