Complete newbie question! Can i use olive oil and coconut oil from the grocery store? Distilled or cold pressed how can you tell?

IMO for first soaps thy will be just fine. Olive oil any way we buy in supermarkets - lower grade you buy whiter soap you get :) and coconut oil can be extra virgin, unrefined, native or refined it should be written on the pack!

U r very welcom! but remember, if u will get olive pomace u need to look up for it in ur soap calculator as it has different sap number than extra virgin olive oil :)

You can pick up most of your basic oils from the grocery store and they are fine to use. Just watch for olive oil blends and expiration dates.

I get my OO from Sam's and my CO from the grocery store.

Olive Oil Cash & Carry

Hi, I buy all mine from Cash & Carry, they have the best prices, if you have one in your area, and you can get large quantities of it if you need to :)
