If someone would have told me 5 years ago that I would have a job that would allow me to travel the world I would have laughed right in their face, but here I am, travelling the world!! :)

I will have pics upon my return.

Not sure my absence will even be missed, but if it is, that's where I'll be and why. :)
I'm leaving early tomorrow morning (25hr+ travel time) and not getting home until the 11th. :)

Singapore is such a clean country... And diverse too! Do check out the night markets for street food, and the other ones for soap ingredients lols

If you get time, of course :p

Umm, this jet lag is no joke. LOL I've been here since Sunday evening and I'm still feeling a bit woozy and out of sorts. After my flight home, I don't think I ever want to take an 4 hour flight, followed by an 18 hour flight (27hr travel time) again. Bleh.

I feel ya! My trips to China require a minimum of 24 hours of travel. I've found it helpful to drink TONS of water and reduce my protein for the first few days. (not much help now that you're there, but something to think about when you come home) I've always found the trip home to be harder on me for jet lag. Just remember to be gentle with yourself, and if you can find 10-15 minutes to take a power nap, do it!
 
Power naps are so beneficial! When traveling across country by car, which I do a lot, I found that my energy level and wakefulness much improved after a 15 or 20 minute nap at a rest area. I keep a timer in my car for this purpose, but the alarm setting on a mobile phone or tablet works as well.

amd, what is the purpose of the protein reduction prior to the 24 hour flight? Does that have something to do with decreasing the activity of digestion? As I get older, I have noticed my digestion is even slower than when I was younger, so I'll bet my gut takes longer to digest proteins than in my 20's.

We also took melatonin just prior to our flights to Europe and back home again, and that really seemed to help prevent the jet lag for us.
 
@earlene I'm not really sure what reducing protein does. It was advice given to me by a colleague after my first overseas trip years ago - he was experienced with travel, I was not and struggled horribly with jetlag. I was only sleeping an hour or two each night and couldn't get it together. I had just taken a manager's position so I was required to go every quarter, so I started asking colleagues who do a lot of travel. I traveled quarterly for 3-4 years and the water/protein trick was the only thing that helped me out. I usually start the day before I leave and continue until I've been on the ground at least 24 hours. Which is really hard when I've been gone for two weeks and I'm dying for "real" hamburger. :) Anyways, I think the "avoiding protein" advice is more to steer towards light foods, more veggies and fruit, rather than eating heavy, fatty foods. (Which here in the Midwest is EVERYTHING...)
 
I have been drinking a ton of water. So much so I feel waterlogged at times, but I feel that has helped. Didn't know about the protein but will remember for my return late next week.
