Here is my second CP attempt. It is much softer then my lye heavy batch, but it seems almost too soft, it has only been about 24 hours but I did manage to get it out of the mold in one piece. It seems to have an almost slimy or wet feel too it, and I am not sure what is normal at this point and what isn't. I just have my lye heavy batch to compare this to, so it is hard for me to figure out if it is good or bad. The brown color did turn more of a pinkish color which was not I was hoping for, but I am not going to complain about the color :)

I have no idea how the swirls I tried to do in it worked without cutting, but I am not sure about cutting it while it still feels kind of wet. I figure I will leave it out at least overnight (likely longer as I have to leave fairly early tomorrow morning), and I can see how it is after it has been exposed more to the air. It is scented with Twilight Woods FO for WSP.

Did you put it in the freezer to get it out of the mold? I do that with my pvc molds and the soap is always soft and slimy until it stops condensing and dries off. Looks good tho! What did you use for the brown that went pink?

I used Queen Kathryn mica from TKB and it was a brilliant red in the package, turned brown in the batter and then pink later. I think a lot of that may have been due to the FO, but I am not positive. I did another batch with the same colorants last night and did not use the FO. It stayed more of a brick red while I was mixing it and I have yet to see how it will look when it is dry. I checked it this morning and it is drying out some, but is still a little wet and oily feeling. It is much better then my first batch though, so I am happy with it :)

la-rene, yes, I did put it in the freezer for a little while to help get it out of the mold. It was still a bit soft in the mold and I likely could have waited a bit longer to take it out, but I was inpatient and also knew I was going to be fairly busy for the next couple days so I was not sure how much time I would have to get around to it.

Im always scared to use colorants because I have no idea what to expect! I use all natural stuff to color my soaps and so far not much has changed....maybe there is less mutation with them than with chemical (or mica or whatever else) colors.

Looks good! I've had some that came out soft too. I took it out of the mold and waited another 24 hours before cutting. Could it maybe need a little longer in a pvc mold since it isn't getting air to the middle? I could be totally off there though.
