I am going to try this soap next week, and thinking of using it as a dog shampoo bar, for my 3 dogs. I have been doing a lot of research and I have read that you need to reduce the cleansing, increase the conditioning, and have sufficient lather for a good dog shampoo.
So this is what I came up with. Numbers are all in ounces.

Coconut Oil, 10
Castor Oil 4
Avocado Oil 2
Olive Oil 22
Shea Butter 4
Soybean Oil , infused with calendula 2
Canola Oil, infused with chamomile 1
Palm Oil 4
Cocoa Butter 1
Plus Aloe in coconut oil to superfat 1

Totals 50 + 1

Chamomile tea 19
Lye 6.6

I am planning on adding a teaspoon each of oatmeal and calendula petals.
.20 oz Chamomile EO
I was going to add about 10 drops each of Eucalyptus, Peppermint, and Lavendar EO, as I heard they help repel fleas and ticks, but I am not sure about how that will smell. Any thoughts?

Seems awfully complicated. And 0.2 oz of EO in over 3 lbs of soap is close to none. The same with your few drops of the other EOs

Be very cautious in using soap on pets. The high pH of our soaps can be problematic for them.

Are you going tomHP or CP this?

(also, it's hard for ME to judge formulas written in ounces - percentages are easier)

I am going to CP it. I have been talking to my dog club friends and my vet to try to come up with a dog soap. It needs to be low on cleansing and high on conditioning for their skin. EOs are touchy with dogs that is why I have them so low. The insects should still be able to smell them even if we can't. The reason I have canola oil and soybean oil in the recipe is because I have an aloe oil from WSP that is aloe gel infused in canola oil, and a calendula oil that is calendula petals infused in soybean oil. That is the only way I could see to calculate them into the recipe.
I had to add the cocoa butter to up the hardness and conditioning. I could leave it out.
We have leonbergers and are members of the Leonberger Club of America, some of the ingredients are things that my fellow members asked for in a dog soap, like aloe, calendula, and shea butter, for skin and coat conditioning.
This is in percentages.

Coconut Oil, 76 deg 20
Castor Oil 8
Avocado Oil 4
Olive Oil 44
Shea Butter 8
Soybean Oil 4
Canola Oil, rapeseed 2
Palm Oil 8
Cocoa Butter 2

Neem Soap

I too have 3 dogs and made a soap for them yesterday.

This is the recipe:

Coconut Oil 30 %
Olive Oil 30 %
Shea Butter 15 %
Castor Oil 13.75 %
Neem Oil 11.25 %

+ Approx. 1 tbsp. Calendula petals.

I have used more or less 10 g of EO's (Tee Trea, Rosemary, Mint).

I will unmould it either this evening or tomorrow.
The soap is very stinky due to the Neem Oil, but Neem seems to be very good to control ticks and flees... :D
