So I am going to make my second ever batch of soap and wanted to get a little creative with the oils. Below are the oils I am thinking of using. I did not add a super fat in this calculation. I wanted to experiment with oils I have on hand or could get very easy. So my question to the people who know more than me. Is there anything you can tell be about the below? Any opinions at all. Like what might the lather be like? Hard soft? OMG don't do it.
From what I have been looking up I am thinking this will give me a hard bar with a creamy lather that does not last.It should also be pretty moisturizing. I was also thinking about switching the sunflower and olive oil numbers. What do you think?

Castor Oil 0.80oz 5.00% Lard 4.80oz 30.00% Olive Oil 7.20oz 45.00% Sunflower Seed Oil 3.20oz 20.00% 0% Lye (Sodium Hydroxide) Amount 2.164oz
Ounces of liquid recommended 5.28oz

First, unless this is for laundry soap, I'd add a superfat of at least 5% to make up for any possible weighing inaccuracies.

Otherwise the recipe looks like it will be very conditioning with little bubbles. Although, you could always add a little sugar to your water to up the bubbles. Also, is your sunflower oil the high oleic kind? If not, using that much sunflower oil would be very prone to rancidity.

Some people use sunflower oil at high percentages with no problem, but I'm not one of them. :) I guess mine was not high oleic, but one batch of DOS was enough to turn me against sunflower oil. I'm sure it's fine in smaller percentages, but 20% seems high to me. I also agree with Genny about superfatting. It's just a little insurance to make sure you don't have too much lye. Good luck! :)

Maybe I'll cut out the sunflower oil this time around. When I look it up I often see good reviews on it as far as being a good oil to add.
I'm still playing around with the oils in my head. My lard wont even get to me until Friday so I have time to meddle this over.
