Hello all

So, Nikolaus brought me a slowcooker (or crockpot!) this year, which means I can start with HPing.

I've looked at lots of stuff about gelling and so on, hoping that I can avoid messing it up. But I was wondering about scents.

I know we add it after the cook, but do we mix it with anything else to make it easier to stir in and ensure an even scent throughout? Or just put the scents in and mix it up?

I've added my EOs (I don't use fragrance oils) to the superfat oil and add it after the cook.

I mix FO or EOs with the oil I set back for the superfat. You don't have to do it this way. You could just stir in the fragrance but it makes it easier on me to add it to oil and stir it in. I also use less fragrance in HP - .3 oz to .5 oz depending on the EO or FO.

eta: Just saw someone posted while I was typing.

i mixed my scent with my sf oils, simply coz i was too lazy to stir twice.

I have actually been using .5oz on my 2lb batches & find it to be plenty on almost every FO. Soap is wrapped in wax paper & plenty of fragrance comes through.
